The term tax policy has been mainly used to describe the choice by the state government on what taxes they should levy, and what amounts should be used up and in addition to whom should this tax be levied to. Tax policy has been studied as both a micro and macroeconomics subtitle. The macroeconomic aspect to focus on the amount of taxes that should be collected while the microeconomic perspective of tax policy focuses mainly on the issue of equity and allocation procedures. Policy problem Taxation policies are never fair as they standardize all the citizens despite the fact that citizen's fall in different classes regarding wealth. There has been a lack of procedures that can regulate this process and thus this is a policy problem which should be addressed by the government as soon as possible. Another issue within the tax policy that should be sent is the issue of corrupt officials who do not have regard for fair procedures as they corrupt and favor individuals who offer bribes. The New York Times defines how the tax policy has been neglected and forgotten in our country, yet citizens suffer in the hand of this policy. These newspapers offer further discussion on how the state government should interfere on this matter. The time's magazine, on the other hand, is a periodical that focuses on neglected government policies. This periodical is very clear on how the taxation process has been neglected and how the poor are oppressed as they are charged with similar amounts as the rich. This magazine terms this as inequality of the highest order and that the government should address this issue by setting gauges as per an individual's financial capability.
