Unfortunately, your life changes drastically when you are plummeted into poverty by the stock market crash, may lose your job any day, and now have to live in a one bedroom apartment with seven of your family members. It is 1932 and you have followed the campaigns of Roosevelt and Hoover closely on the radio. You believe life will change. Write a letter, in 500 words or less, to your great aunt who stayed behind in Europe, and explains your lifestyle and how it changed when the market crashed. Tell her how you now feel about the future with the impending election.

Three years ago, in 1929, my father was a successful and one of the richest businessmen of Oklahoma. I graduated from Tulsa Central High School and then took admission Amherst College in Massachusetts. I had plans to go to Harvard Law School for higher studies, and my father was ready to cooperate with me in all possible ways. I never thought of money in those days as my dad was a millionaire. We had fancy cars, a big and spacious house, and lots of money to spend on our parties and get together. However, in just a couple of years, things suddenly changed and I lost all of my money. We were plummeted into poverty by the stock market crash, and we were forced to sell our cars and house to pay loans. It is now 1932, and political observers these days are of mixed opinions about presidential candidacy of Franklin D. Roosevelt. Various leaders of the Democratic Party consider him a person with extraordinary characteristics and a vibrant personality.
Herbert Hoover, on the other hand, is on the verge of winning the nomination for President. He has successfully won primaries in New Jersey, Michigan, Maryland, California, and Oregon. I have learned a lot about...
