This era witnessed a rise of new religious and philosophical ideas because Confucius introduced a fresh breed of leaders who were comprised of teachers and thinkers. They were not kings, warriors, or priests. Their collaborations paved the way for discoveries and an innovative way of thinking. It is because teachers and the founders were able to think differently from the others that came before them and became influential to people during that era. In addition, it was the “Äxial Age” of the 1st millennium BCE; it is a time when societies were close to forming religious empires or the empires of Afro-Eurasia began to think of new ideas. When the old political order was destroyed, the radical thinkers emerged in Eastern Zhou China. New visions came up that would shift the thinking of the Chinese regarding where they stand in society and give philosophical underpinnings for the imperial system of the world. The impact of the thinkers during that era introduced a lot of philosophies and ideas they believed in.
