During world war II, rcism and racial inequalities existed within the axis powers and allies, especially between the Japanese in the US. The anti-Chinese agendas of the Japanese created much discord, especially when the Oriental school was rebuilt where Japanese and Chinese children were integrated despite the conflicts (Class Lecture, 2022). This further shows the exclusion of Chinese and Japanese in the United States because they were running circles around each other, especially during the “Picture Brides” incident in Angel Island, which led to policies against Japanese immigration in the country (Class Lecture, 2022).
