Module 6 Discussion: The Impact Martin Luther King Jr.

Essay Instructions:

This module guides you through the presidential administrations of Dwight Eisenhower, John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson. It includes the foreign policy crises of the 1950s and the creation of a domestic consumer culture. The module introduces the civil rights movement, some of the brave steps taken to expand equality, and the often-reluctant response of white America, especially during the early 1960s. The movement for equality shifted during the later 1960s away from the legislature toward achieving equality in everyday life. The year 1968 is highlighted as a dramatic one, and the impact of the social revolution is summarized. Here are some reminders that will help you achieve success this week. • The module lectures and Author Insight Videos are a good place to start.• Chapter 28 & 29 Author Insight Videos o Dissent and Anxiety in Postwar American Society | View Transcripto Lyndon B. Module 6 Discussion
Born on January 15, 1929, no one knew the impact Martin Luther King Jr. would have in America and the world. 50 years after his death today and people are still celebrating him and his precepts. Before his death in 1968, King had managed to spread a message of love, peace, and equality throughout the ends of the United States. As a Civil Rights movement leader, he managed to nonviolently shake and in his absentia help abolish or revoke some disparaging and overly oppressing laws. All over the world, he is esteemed in high regard and is believed to have lived his life right and in the forefront fighting against the injustices towards the African Americans. For some reason or the other, a significant number of white Americans believed they were entitled to all the privileges in the country. However, King believed in a country where every man was deemed equal, and the resources were evenly distributed. He did not see tit for tat as the solution but rather believed in turning the other cheek and showing love. In a 2013 interview by Dallas News, Wilson opines that King “understood from a biblical perspective that you should actually love your enemies, confront racism in a way that is nonviolent and leave the results to the Lord.” By using the precepts of the Bible, King managed...
