The revolution of 1800 was a fierce race between Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. The revolution began when the federalist feared that, if Thomas Jefferson was elected as the next president, he was going to revolutionize America (Buckley, 2018). After winning the election, Jefferson in his inaugural address in 1801, reassured Americans that he would work with everyone despite the difference in ideologies (Buckley, 2018). In the second paragraph of his speech, Jefferson stated that " we are all Republicans, we are all Federalists"(Buckley, 2018).
The deeper meaning behind the quote was to think beyond political differences. The quote was meant to instill hope in American (Buckley, 2018).
