Introduction
Considering the early revolution in the 1950’s by Mao Zedong in China, the population of china was not controlled and planned according to the policies (Guan, et al., 2018). However, it was later seen that the country’s population was declared as the world’s largest population (He, 2017). Social and economic issues were seen to face by the country in future (Zhang, 2017). Considering the reforms of China, since the 1980s, there is a huge impact on multiple aspects of these reforms. Such as realizing the threat, china’s national policies were established in the past years to control the population in order to limit the birth rate (Almond, Li, & Zhang, 2019). In this way the current paper will attempt to review the achievements of china’s reforms, problems that have emerged from these reforms, the transformation of the birth rate and population 80s phase, 90s phase and then the steps taken in last twenty years with regards to China’s population policy.

Achievements of China’s Reform since the 1980s
Years ago, a speech delivered by Deng Xiaoping, "Emancipate the Mind, Seek Truth from Facts and Unite as One in Looking to the Future" triggered the decades of reforms which has eventually turned china into a second-largest economy of the world. Tracing back to China’s paved way in these reforms, it is evident that China has subsequently made a way in transitioning from low-income status towards high-income status (Feng, 2011). However, in the way of this transition china has worked a lot in its policies related to economy, trade, gender equality, population control, working condition and about many more aspects (Almond, Li, & Zhang, 2019). The transition that China has made is solely based on the successful implementation of these policies and instilling the acceptance for these policies among the population of China. Moreover, the reforms since the 1980s in China has resulted in many achievements (He, 2017). These achievements include liberalized prices for goods, opening trade and foreign investments, controlling inflation, developing a force of labor, strengthen property rights, promoting gender equality and controlling the population and birth rate (Guan, et al., 2018). Based on the subsequent shift and transition of china’s economic and social aspects since the 1980s there have been many problems faced as a result of these reforms (He, 2017).
