Congressional Senators for the Georgia State Name Institution Congressional Senators for the Georgia State Introduction The state of Georgia is located in the southern part of the United States. To the north, the State is bordered by Tennessee, and to the South, it is bordered by Florida. Alabama State also borders it to the West, South Carolina to the northeast and the southeast it is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean. The Blue Ridge Mountains is situated in the northern part of the State. Brasstown Bald is the highest point in the State at 4,784 feet while the Atlantic Ocean is the lowest point (Georgia Facts, 2018). The humid subtropical climate covers most parts of the State. The summers are typically hot and humid, apart from the regions with high elevations. Generally, Georgia receives precipitation that ranges from moderate to high. The rainfall ranges between 1143 mm and 1905 mm. Demographically, according to the US Census Bureau of 1st July 2018, a population of approximately 10.5 million was recorded. The State has mixed race and ethnic groups, where approximately 60% are whites, 31% are African-Americans, 3% Asians and 4% are from other ethnic groups (US Census Bureau, n.d.). Georgia has 159 counties together with 535 municipalities that are composed of cities, towns as well as integrated city-counties, plus integrated cities (Georgia Facts, 2018). It is majorly urban and the capital city that sums up as the largest city in the US being Atlanta. The State is home to very important industries, both in the country and the world. Georgia is the home of Coca Cola. This company has been a great source of tourist attraction together with Zoo Atlanta, Stone Mountain, and Georgia Aquarium. Another tourist attraction sites are the Georgia Aquarium, Callaway Gardens and Savannah Historic District that attracts close to 11 million tourists every year (Georgia Facts, 2018). Georgia is home of top media houses in the country. Georgia’s Atlanta is the ninth largest media market in the US. Some of the media houses include CNN, TBS, Headline News, TCM and TNT among others.
