* The current case study is about a 13 years old girl named Carrie. She tends to show bizarre behaviour, and it is challenging to manage her attitude. She is unable to pay attention to classwork. Her performance in school is not satisfactory. Her parents are not willing to put her on medication without identifying the reason. The mental state of Carrie is not normal. She reports delusion and denies suicidal thinking. The client may have schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a severe mental illness that badly affects the thinking, behavior, and feeling of the person. To treat such type of medical illness, it is essential to provide a lifetime treatment. It includes medication, along with psychosocial therapy.
* It is essential to treat the child or adolescent in a highly compassionate and friendly way. In the case of Carrie, she is suffering from mental issues called Schizophrenia. It is suggested to consider the most common symptoms that may help diagnose the real cause of Carrie's suffering. Anxiety disorders are quite common in children. Children who are affected with anxiety tend to respond with anxiety and fear. Some adolescents show physical symptoms of anxiety that involves sweating and rapid heartbeat. Other mental issues involve schizophrenia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, mood disorder, elimination disorder, and an eating disorder. It is recommended to treat Carrie with affection and care. Listen to the child properly. In the case of Carrie, it is suggested to give her enough time and listen to her so she may share her thoughts. Providing attention is an essential tool to treat the child instantly (Barbaresi et al., 2020). Talk with the child and make him/her comfortable to share issue conveniently. It is vital to provide an environment of child's interest to avoid boredom during treatment.
