The Chinese American Museum
The Chinese American Museum is one of the many museums located in Los Angeles. It is, however, different from the rest of the museums as its artefacts’ focus mainly on the Chinese culture, which includes the Chinese traditional medicines. One of the exhibits in the museum used to educate the visitors on the traditional Chinese medicine is the Hing Yuen Hong Chinese Herb Shop The shop was originally opened in the year 1981 and was aimed at supplying the Chinese living in America with herbs that they easily accessed back in China (Wang, 2015).
During the visit, I was able to understand the traditional Chinese medicine better. The contents of the shop highlight the Chinese’s preference to use herbs as their medicines (Wang 2015). There were herbs that were supposed to help them cure any health complication that they experienced.
