Inter-and Intra-professional Communication And Teamwork In The Obstetric Clinical Day

1. Analyze the inter- and intraprofessional communication and teamwork that you witnessed during your Obstetric clinical day. How did this communication affect the care of the patient(s)?
This what i did in the OB clinical rotation. During my clinical rotation at st. rose hospital on the labor and delivery unit i observed intrapersonal team composed of anesthesiologist, NICU nurse, Physician, Lab technologist, scrub technologist and Labor and delivery nurse. I witness a woman delivered C-section and i notice during the operation the labor and delivery nurse and the scrub technologist always communicating each other to account the equipment they used and also wet pads fall of blood. I also observed a vaginal delivery starting from first stage of labor to the expulsion of the fetus. All team were corroborated each other to achieve their goal to be successful.

This is my classmate post discussion, I need to response this in one paragraph estimated 120 words. My essay is two paragraph. First paragraph estimated 150 words for my discussion and the second paragraph estimated 120 words for my response to my classmate discussion.
Analyze the inter- and intraprofessional communication and teamwork that you witnessed during your Obstetric clinical day. How did this communication affect the care of the patient(s)?
In the OB unit, there is a visible difference in the communication in comparison with other units. Each unit has their own teamwork established, but in the OB unit it is a bit more united.
The first thing is that all the nurses get report for all the patients. They all learn about every patient that is on the unit, regardless if that is their assigned patient or not. This way allows all of the nurses to have some knowledge about each patient so that if a complication arises, they have some background. 
Secondly, all the nurses respond to any calls or call lights. It does not matter if they are their assigned patient or not, whoever can goes to help the patient or answer the phones. This too is a safety measure because the nurses all understand the complications that can arise after pregnancy. If one is busy with the another patient, another nurse doesn't hesitate to help her out. 
Lastly, the collaboration between all the staff is truly an example of teamwork. They never failed to help each other out in whatever they needed. If a nurse couldn't get to complete a task, another nurse would willingly accomplish that task for the nurse. The nurses let the cleaning staff know of any pertinent information and helped sanitize some things. The physicians never failed to show up on the floor either. All of them working together really helps keep the unit well kept and safe.
