it is exposed to injuries,
bacterias, and other hash
conditions if not well taken
care of

controlling infection
High standards of hand
hygiene and wound
dressing. Proper hand
washing and wound dressing are
considered some of the most effective techniques to protect wounds from bacterial infections and
injuries (Ballehaninna, 2015).
The Effects of the experience on the patient.
Change of attitude towards self-care. By knowing the techniques of how to take care of operated wounds, the patient will realize its easy and would be develop interest in performing the process without the presence of a nurse (Ballehaninna, 2015).
Acquired skills for coping after hospital discharge. When the patient is equipped with some coping skills, it will be easier for him/her to cope easily with the situation after hospital discharge.
Motivation – After being guided in hospital on how to take care of wounds and other issues relevant for healing, the patient is motivated to take up self-initiative towards self-care without fear.

symptoms and signs of appendicitis

pain near the belly button and lower right
side of the abdomen, abnormal discharge
(pus) on the operated wound,
Abdominal swelling, rigid abdominal
muscles, constipation or diarrhea,
nausea, low-grade fever

The patient will be able to demonstrate
how to maintain the required hand
hygiene standrads before and after
wound care.
The patient will be able to
demonstrate new knowledge
gained in managing the operated wound.
The patient will be able to identify
some of the post-discharge problems
he/she might have during the healing
process.
Patient will be able to highlight how to utilize available information education materials like pamphlet to manage stress and other possible issues during the time of wound infection control.
