Every year, hundreds to thousands of people in the United States die of substance abuse (Druger, 2018). It is believed that in 2017, more than 400,000 deaths took place all over the world because of the excessive consumption of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. In 2007, alcohol was considered the most widely used psychoactive substance, and it was said that people aging from 20 to 60 were consuming alcohol in large quantities every single day. It should be noticed that the use of different drugs produces varying patterns of addiction, such as negative effects, anticipation or preoccupation and intoxication.
