Situation
Physicians have been complaining about the time it takes to room patients after being registered. As the manager of the department, you decide to review the process to see what is going on.
You decide to monitor the time it takes from patient check in to the nurse calling the patient back to the visit room for 5 days at different times of the day, including the beginning of the day, before lunch, and after lunch. Your hope is to capture all the possible times that bottlenecks can occur.

Organize
Construct an X-bar chart using the standard deviation of the observations to estimate the population standard deviation.
Construct an X-bar chart and r-chart using range to calculate the control limits.
Analyze
Is the process in control? Explain.
Strategize
If the standard is to stay under 15 minutes from time of check in to time the patient is called back, what are the Cp and Cpk of the process?
