Spinal meningitis, as discussed, is a viral or bacterial infection of a person’s spinal fluid. It also affects the fluid that or rounds a person’s brain. Much about the disease is well known, such as symptoms, mode of transmission and even its effects. The disease affects individuals of all ages, from young to old. For individuals over the age of two, the symptoms are more evident and easier to comprehend, compared to babies. The most common symptoms of spinal meningitis include neck stiffness, sleepiness, extremely high fever, vomiting as well as a general discomfort when glancing glares (March & Lawrence, 2012). These symptoms develop in various durations. For example, it might take just a few hours to a few days for the complete manifestation of the symptoms.
