The medical field is a combination of various concepts that promote the well-being of human beings. The concepts are made to facilitate innovation and quality health care. Among such concepts are design thinking and the nursing process. Design thinking in the medical field refers to the creation of prototypes. The creator is allowed to fail then begin the process again to create a reliable solution. This paper will compare and contrast design thinking and the nursing process.
Both the design thinking and the nursing process facilitate the provision of quality medical care. Design thinking involves the creation of prototypes. Such prototypes are designed to improve the current medical processes to ensure better quality medical care. The creation of the prototypes includes trials to ensure the best fit solution has been developed (Altman, Huang & Breland, 2018). The nursing process also facilitates better medical care because it is a process whose final step is evaluation. First, the evaluation is made to determine whether the patient’s health has improved. Further actions are then taken depending on the results of the evaluation.
The design thinking and nursing process differ from one another in terms of the number of times each is carried out. In design thinking, trials have to be made to ensure the best fit solution has been found.
