Speeches are crucial since they inform, challenge, or persuade the target audience about significant matters in society. One such topic is the importance of healthcare in poverty-stricken countries. For speakers to communicate relevant messages to the target audience, it is vital to understand the listeners’ behaviors entirely. For this reason, they must adjust their speeches to suit different audiences.
In the scenario at hand, the speaker is delivering a speech to three distinct audiences. They include businessmen and women, religious leaders, and high school students. In particular, the primary subject of the speeches is the significance of healthcare in poverty-stricken countries. One of the primary things that the speaker must adjust is the language and diction (Lyberg-Ahlander et al., 2015). When talking to businesswomen and men, it would be correct for the speaker to use some difficult vocabularies if they do not alter the message. As such, the choice of words depends on the target audience. Indeed, it would be wrong for the speaker to use jargon when addressing high school students.
