Three (3) Nursing interventions pertaining to Mental Health:
must be from your book or a nursing journal
must pertain to a mental health disorder when a client is admitted to your mental health unit.
It should not pertain to giving medications or referrals. Give what you, as a nurse, can do to help the client with the disorder or disease to feel safe and decrease anxiety and/or confusion when admitted.

1 Give one (1) example of how a client can give Implied Consent without using verbal or written communication: (Give at least 4-5 sentences)
A client gives implied consent by his or her actions, which is quite different from informed consent where they are well informed before making the decision. Implied consent is necessary for psychiatric emergencies because in such moments, the mental disorder patient incapable of giving consent or unable to meet the informed consent conditions (Staden et al 2003, p.41). Involuntary treatment is also acceptable in critical cases where the client is unconscious or can harm others. An example of a client who has given implied consent is one that shows up at the required time for treatment.
2 Describe in detail what the Surgeon’s responsibility is when acquiring a Surgical Informed Consent from the patient or care giver: (Give at least 4-5 sentences) What will the surgeon tell the client and family about:

Informed consent is all about the choice that is why is the responsibility of the practitioner to find the right person to give consent, provide them with the documents, participate by giving relevant information and verify the patient is on the same page. The surgeon will inform everyone involved about the procedure, how long it might take, benefit, alternatives potential risks such as complications. Informed consent is more than getting a signature that is they require effective communication including informing the parties of tests, checkups, treatments, assessment of risks, medical history, and to do things before the surgery. The pre and post-ops help the patient get back on their feet quicker for example evaluation of the type of anesthesia to be administered to avoid complications (Zambouri, 2007, p.13).
3 Describe in detail what the Nurse’s responsibility is when acquiring a Surgical Informed Consent: (Give at least 4-5 sentences) What will the nurse do with the Consent Form after it is signed?
The nurse has the biggest responsibility during informed consent and is present from the start to the end of the process to ensure it is a success. The most essential responsibility of the nurse is obtaining and witnessing the signing of the consent. The nurse ensures the patient understands the process, tells them the benefits and the underlying misgivings, and everything about informed consent. His or her functions are to teach, assess, evaluate, support, listen, and explain to the patient. After the form is sighed, the nurse processes it for treatment, keeps it well in the patient’s records, and document the process as part of the nursing notes.
