Rationale for Methods used in Collecting Data
In order to determine the relationship of good nurse management and the number of CAUTI cases, a combination of both qualitative and quantitative measures will be employed in this research. Quantitative measures would include statistical analysis using a simple statistical sampling and comparison between different baseline cases. This process would simply include the measuring of a number of CAUTI cases and the number of guidelines which are implemented in the healthcare facility which is inclined towards the prevention of CAUTI cases. These guidelines might include those which are recommended by the CDC or any other organizations as well as those which are self-implemented by nurse-mangers based on experience. In theory, the more thorough and available these guidelines are for the nurses and staff, the less number of CAUTI cases should appear, and vice versa. After collecting data, ANOVA would be used in order to determine whether the correlation that we’ve found between the two variables (number of guidelines and number of CAUTI cases) is valid and reliable. However, since there are other factors that might affect the results, such as sterility of the room and number of patients among others, a qualitative analysis would also be done although in a lesser degree.
Evaluation of Outcome Measures
As stated earlier, the test that would be employed in this research would include both quantitative and qualitative processes. However, in order to evaluate outcome measures, quantitative data would be given much focus in order to determine whether the baseline data would be sufficient enough in order to conclude that the correlation that has been found between the two variables are va...
