Personal Philosophy Statement
Mother Teresa’s quote that stated; “It is not how much you do, but how much love you put in the doing,” is the greatest philosophy that has always bonded me to the nursing profession. The quote made me realize and believe that nursing is a calling with a focus on helping all those who are in need regardless of their demographics. Unlike any other job, nursing is a respected career that is characterized by additional commitments other than just getting a daily income (Meehan, 2012).
I believe that as nurses we have an obligation to the general public to provide, holistic and safe patient-centered care, an aspect that makes up my mission. I always need to recall that the patients do not make up individuals in rooms or with different medical conditions, but rather people who need and deserve quality care and attention. I believe that a supportive environment is a key contributor to achieving my mission. Working with a well-organized team with similar goals and beliefs as mine will significantly contribute to the wellbeing of the patient (Iglehart, 2013). Working as a team ensures that we maintain ethical conduct and professionalism while attending to patient needs. By upgrading my skills and knowledge, I can care for patients with complicated conditions and in turn take the lives of the sick individuals in my own hands. Respect and integrity will be my core pillars in attending to my patients, attributes that will ensure that a stronger relationship with the patient is created hence building trust which is a recipe for success.

To ensure that perform my duties as expected of me, I ensure that I adhere to the core values of the nursing profession which include love, honesty, kindness, persistence, caring, lifelong learning, knowledge, and integrity. By aligning my goals to the general nursing goals, I can do a continuous assessment of my daily duties to ensure that I am on the right path towards adopting the best nursing practices.
Personal Goals
My short-term goal is to complete my nursing course and to register as an FNP by taking the FNB board examination. The registration will allow me to deliver primary medical care to infants, childr
