Peer review helps in determining the accuracy and integrity of scholarly works through scrutiny by people who are experts in that field. It helps to assess the quality and originality of an article, identifying and removing eras before publication. The process of peer review adds value and improves quality to the articles, therefore should be a robust process. The scholarly works that have been peer-reviewed show open identity whereby the reviewer’s names appear in the books they have reviewed. Their names appear either on the back cover of the book or on the editorial page (Kulczycki et al,2019). Peer-reviewed journals can be checked through the database of Ulrichsweb.com, and if the book is labeled as ‘refereed’ then it has been peer-reviewed (Kelly et al,2014). There is an official website that limits database search to peer-reviewed journals only, such as in academic search.org, there is a pertinent box to limit the search for peer-reviewed books only.
