Diagnosis is the process of identification of the cause and nature of an underlying process or symptoms using, history, physical examination and various diagnostic tests (JBR Journal of Clinical Diagnosis and Research, 2016). An accurate diagnosis of the disease enables the provider to inform the patient about treatment and prognosis and provides a solid base for treatment. Various strategies are used by clinicians to aid in the accurate diagnosis of symptoms and treatment. Pattern recognition is considered as one of the important strategy in the process of diagnosis in the clinic settings (Loveday.et.al, 2013). The purpose of this paper is to explain how pattern recognition strategy is used in the process of diagnosis during the practicum experience.
