Dealing with healthcare is directly tied to taking care of life, which is in turn connected to religious philosophy on the sanctity of life. When all these are handled well, they play a huge factor in the distinction between joy and good health. Religion and spirituality have continued playing a vital role in healthcare. In a number of occasions for example, people tend to invoke prayers, fasting and seeking counseling from the pastor, all in the hope that their respective states of health would change for the better. When it comes to the end of life care, spirituality also comes in, as mediation is applied in an attempt to demystify the mystery of death. Such prayers aren’t only meant for the patient, but also for the patents’ families and friends. This paper aims to analyze how a healing hospital is connected to spirituality, based on its components, and the challenges of creating such an environment.
When the perception of hospitals is altered to be viewed as healing centers, it helps change the general view of the facilities, and introduces the virtue of morality. It also rewrites how every activity or process is supposed to be managed within a healthcare setup. A healing hospital is made up of three fundamental components. These are a caring culture, the integration of the work framework with technological innovations, and a generally calming physical surrounding (Chapman, 2003).A healing environment encompasses not only the treatment and healing procedures that a patient goes though while at the facility, but also the various interactions between all the stakeholders, such as the members of staff, the patients, and the families of these patients as well.
