Organizational conflict refers to the state of discord that exists between people or a group of people who are working together. According to Cowan, any organization should consider how it treats its customers as well as its employees. The management should give their employees a chance to participate in the development of new ideas and decision making (Cowan, 2003). Constant reorganization of an organization contributes to stress and conflict among the employees.
As a nurse leader, I know that one of the causes of conflict is poor communication. Before making the reorganization in the department, the new director should communicate to both the nurses and other employees about changes that he or she intends to make and involve them while making decision.
