1. Pick a neoplasm from chapter 7 and discuss a developmental, genetic, or an infectious, inflammatory or immune-related lesion that could be confused with the neoplasm (. you can talk about Basal cell carcinoma) . Identify what diagnostic procedures would be necessary to identify the neoplasm.
2. Discuss a neoplasm you think is likely to be common in your generation when you age, in the United States. What precautions are you and /or your friends taking against developing neoplasm?

Google one of the nonneoplastic diseases from chapter 8 (that you did not discuss in the previous questions) ( you can talk about Focal Cemento-Osseous Dysplasia) and find information from CDC, WHO, NIH, or another credible source, that is different than what you find in your assigned reading. Neoplasm is an abnormal mass of tissue that forms when cells multiply grow more than expected. Such a mass can also occur when cells fail to die. These neoplasms can be benign, which means noncancerous or malignant which means cancerous. Basal cell carcinoma is an example of a neoplasm. It is non-melanoma cancer and is the most common malignancy. Exposure to sunlight is the most prevalent risk factor. There are ways in which basal cell carcinoma can be diagnosed. First, visual inspections to identify key features. Secondly, dermatoscopy can get a refined differential diagnosis. Finally, a biopsy is a definitive diagnostic test for basal cell carcinoma (Marzuka & Book, 2015).
The most common carcinoma that affects the oral cavity is squamous cell carcinoma. Cancer of the oral cavity is one of the most common malignancies. Smoking and the use of tobacco increases the risk of squamous cell carcinoma because polycyclic hydrocarbons and nitrosamines are carcinogenic (Marzuka & Book, 2015). Thus, avoiding smoking and tobacco is one of the ways to prevent squamous cell carcinoma.
