School nurses face various challenges to identify meaningful interventions that are suited to the client’s diverse needs. The model’s primary focus is the client, and the nurse then has to use interventions that create caring environments to improve client outcome. The Neuman Model is holistic as it focuses on the physical, psychological, spiritual, and sociocultural as well as development aspects of live (Spurr, Bally, Ogenchuk, & Walker, 2012). Applying the concepts of the Neuman Model highlights stress and coping strategies, where the nurse helps the client to identify and reduce stressors and improve the clients’ ability to cope better.
The Neuman Model is valuable in nursing, as they allow the client to state their perceptions of the stressors affecting their life. The stressors affect the internal and external environment, and the client variables are considered as they relate to the environment (Monahan, 2014).
