Needs assessment is referred to as a methodological approach for ensuring the appropriate use of resources by the health care services in order to provide improved public health outcomes effectively. This paper aims to discuss the steps involved in needs assessment, important aspects of needs assessment, the significance of needs assessment in making public health planner, and a brief overview of the Precede-Proceed Model.

Steps Involved in Needs Assessment
The first step in the needs assessment is the identification of stakeholders. The second step involves the demonstration of target community which needs services. Then, the third step is the collection and analysis of obtained data, while the fourth step involves the selection of preferable community health issue. The fifth step includes documentation and communication of the selected community health issue, whereas the sixth step presents the strategies to improve the plan. Later, the seventh step integrates the integration of the plan for further improvement and the last and eighth step to evaluate progress in improving the community health issue.
Important Aspects of Needs Assessment
The needs assessment has certain important aspects that assist in the improvement of health, for instance, priority setting, policy making, service planning, and authorizing of public health care services (Cunningham & Peyton, 2017). In general, the needs assessment includes comparative, qualitative, and epidemiological methods for describing certain public health issues, identifying the disparities among health care services, and determining the preferences for efficient use of resources.
