Molds and yeasts are eukaryotes that belong to the kingdom fungi. However, they both differ in color, structure, reproduction method, and function. Molds are multicellular with a round or oval shape and have various colors. In addition, their mode of reproduction is sexual or asexual. On the other hand, yeasts are unicellular structures that have filamentous or a thread-like shape and reproduce by budding (McGinnis & Tyring, 2014). Molds are used in making antibiotics as well as decomposing organic wastes. Also, they are hazardous to individuals’ health since they are attributable to respiratory problems, itching, and allergies. Yeasts are frequently found in vegetables, animal skin, fruits, to mention a few. They are also attributable to candidiasis infections in humans.
