Introduction
Disease continues to be the leading cause of death in the world. Millions of people die every year, as they cannot find the right medical attention when they need it most. For most of the populations in the rural areas and in the remote locations, getting unwell can prove to be one of the scariest moments. Most of the people in the remote areas rely on alternative medicine as health facilities tend to be scarce and the ones available are ill equipped.Diseases have continually evolved and new ones are coming up every day threatening the lives of millions of people. This does not mean that the people living in the urban areas are safer; they just have relatively better access to health care services when they need them and with a wider variety.In an interview with one of the nurses who has taken their masters in the field, there were some very insightful information bites that came up crucial to my educational and career path(Nursing.ucsf.edu, 2015).
Overview of a Master’s –Prepared Career
According to the interviewee the degree prepares the students on the knowledge of disease processes the main treatments and the basic outcomes relative to the various diseases(Ley, 2015). It is also geared towards improving the clinical skills relative to the continuous changes driven by technology and research.
Reasons for Seeking To Master
Her main reason for taking masters in nursingwas that she wanted to take on advanced professional roles. With a master’s degree, the level of responsibilities that is accorded are much higher. This means that, a master’s graduate will manage more crucial activities at the hospital than one with a certificate or even a bachelor’s degree. It also means that she could take on better job prospects as she looks to advance her career(Ley, 2015). When looking for a job, education background is one of the most crucial parts of any interview. Ideally, the higher the educational achievements the better the chances of landing a job, relative to the fact that, with higher education comes better technical knowhow. People that are more learned have better technical skills and can better understand and implement higher medical standards. The medical field is constantly changing with newer interventions coming up every so often; as such medical practitioners are under pressure to keep up with the development in the field, relative to advanced treatments, standards and technological integrations that boost the patients’ safety, satisfactionand outcomes.Her focus has mainly been in the underserved areas, where diseasesh...
