Stroke can occur at any Age Name Institution Stroke can occur at any Age The needs of younger stroke patients differ from those of older patients because the younger people experience positive outcomes faster after treatment (Emberson et al., 2014). Younger people get better quickly when they get treatment and rehabilitation for stroke compared to older people. In this way, older stroke patients require more intense rehabilitation processes after a stroke compared to the younger people. However, some needs are the same for both the younger and older patients. This includes the fact that both require immediate medical attention when symptoms of stroke occur (Information Television Network, 2011). Early intervention for stroke patients is critical for their recovery because delay would mean enhanced brain damage that would be impossible to treat. A registered nurse (RN) would collaborate with a physiotherapist to help in treatment of stroke patient. This is because a physiotherapist would play a role in teaching a stroke survivor how to gain mobility. The treatment would involve exercises and strategies that manage loss of mobility, balance, and also coordination (Lloyd, Roberts & Freeman, 2014).
