The aim of the lesson plan that was presented was to plan and structure the most efficient ways of teaching students the most effective methods of curbing and eradicating catheter-associated urinary infections (CAUTIs), their control, epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment. The lesson contains reviews and descriptions of data collection methods, assessment of information, interpretation, and application in the practicum. It was reviewed by the teacher and some of the sections of the lesson plan should be reinforce while others should be refined.
A Description of Identified Areas of Reinforcement
Review of the lesson plan shows that some of the sections need reinforcement. One of such is the section on the learning objectives. The lesson plan describes the expected capabilities of the students at the end of the lesson instead of the skills that they should have acquired at the end of it. The writer of the lesson plan uses ‘will’ instead of ‘should’, and this makes the difference. Further, the section on how learning will be identified needs reinforcement since it is not clear. This is because the exact methods that will be used for identifying learning are not clearly identified (Ceylan & Ozdilek, 2015). Therefore, it could be reinforced by ensuring the exact methods to be used are clearly indicated.
