Any organization has its own sets of members, employees, and staff that comes from varying backgrounds. These differences, such as culture and traditions, is beneficial for the organization in most cases because it provides an avenue for its members to be more creative as well as more resilient to problems (Rigoglioso, 2006). On the other hand, the lack of diversity within the group as well as a very ‘harmonious’ group presents a high probability for problems to arise due to a number of reasons such as small heterogeneity of ideas and opinions (Rigoglioso, 2006). This is a problem that I’ve encountered during my middle school years since most of the time, I was partnered with other students who came from the same background like me. By that time, I didn’t realize that being “similar” to each other poses some risks by limiting the number of ideas that could have been generated if I was partnered with someone else.
