Introduction
Arnold Palmer Hospital is categorized as one of the most trusted healthcare institutions. It is well-known for providing quality care to children and women. Reducing and managing cost is one of the major objectives of the organization, and it applies a technique called just-in-time (JIT) technique. The technique is essential in enhancing inventory management with lower costs and high efficiency (Barry & Hezser, 2005).
Question one
In this case, the solution would be to order another pack in the shortest time possible. The hospital may be using the JIT system where the packs are heavy and expensive, and they have to be sterile. In the situation, it showed that if there was an error, there is only one day to get back the pack. Another spare pack that is accounted for within the inventory can be used in the place of one with an error. In order to get another pack, the institution would communicate with McKesson, the delivery company. McKesson would accept the errors and outline the reasons for the error and take action to correct the errors (Barry & Hezser, 2005). The above question showed the advantage of the JIT system of inventory at Arnold Palmer Hospital.
