Increasing Nurses with a Baccalaureate Degree
To expand the numbers of nurses with Baccalaureate Degree to 80% by 2020, the academic nurse frontiers have a task in training and equipping nurses in order to increase the number of nurses who are holders of the Baccalaureate Degree to 80% by 2020. Ironside, P. M. (2015) states that partnerships should be developed between medical institutions and educational facilities to ensure that nurses are adequately trained, and funding programs are enacted to expand the scope of study for nurses who desire to increase their education levels.
Through this, nurses will be allowed to work while taking courses to improve their skills and knowledge. In order to enroll many nurses in training courses, there is a need to offer scholarships including the development of approaches geared towards increasing diversity among students. Through this approach, nurses are equipped with the growing and changing needs of a diverse population during practice.
Doubling the Number of Nurses
It is significant that different entities take the full responsibility and ownership for monitoring the progress of nursing institutions with the sole aim of ensuring that nurses and medical personnel’s are registered into educational programs that offer master’s and doctorate degrees within a short period. Johnstone, M. (2012) states that medical institutions should ensure that funds are allocated for nurses who desire to pursue degree programs in order to increase their diversity, a factor that will ensure that scientists, researchers, and nurses are equipped in their areas of practice. It is also essential that increments are also made on nurse’s remunerations for nurses who have academic degrees in order to motivate other nurses into pursuing education.
