There are various ways of implementing change in the health care delivery. Nonetheless, the most widely adopted method is planned change (Mitchell, 2013). Planned change is a calculated, purposeful and collaborative effort which aims to bring about improvements in service delivery. Change is cardinal to progress, yet literature identifies many complexities association with the transformation of plans into action (Mitchell, 2013). Attempts to change a process/service often fail because the change agents utilize an unstructured approach during implementation (Mitchell, 2013). In line with this, an appropriate change theory was identified to provide a framework during the implementation and evaluation.
