This applies to organization in different sectors of industry. This ranges from military organizations to non-governmental, non-profit organizations. Change is particularly essential for organizations such as hospitals. Hospitals must be in a position to consistently adapt as the possibility of new diseases or challenges is a definitive possibility. The Center for Disease Control as a federal agency recognizes the essence of change in the health sector CITATION Cal16 \l 1033 (California Department of Public Health , 2016). It advises that hospitals continually monitor their internal processes to ensure their ability to cope with sudden onset of required change.

CLABSI or Central Line-associated Blood Stream Infection is an infection caused by the improper usage of a central line CITATION Cal14 \l 1033 ( California Department of Public Health, 2014). It is critical to note that the central line or central venous catheter (CVC) is used in medical treatment. The line is used to deliver medication and nutrition to patients who are unable to consume these in oral form. The Central line also delivers medication to large veins where such medication if injected into smaller veins would cause their collapse CITATION Cal16 \l 1033 (California Department of Public Health , 2016)The Central line will be utilized for; delivery of long term antibiotics, chemotherapy, Medications. Nutrition, dialysis and frequent drawing of blood. The insertion of the central line is an invasive surgical procedure. Medical officers have noted a higher incidence of infection amongst patients with the Central line compared to those without it. These complications have been attributed to the central line. Medical practitioners have determined that CLABSI is a problem that requires changes in the processes and protocols in hospitals to ensure it is contained CITATION Pro06 \l 1033 (P, D, & S, 2006).
