Introduction
This research paper, tries to establish how behavior of human beings is regulated by the thoughts of God. Given that in the majority of the religions, there is the ultimate belief that God has all the power and is thus all controlling, as well the fact that, God is all knowing, has a lot of influence on the way that most of the believers act and take up challenges. To assess the behavioural changes that are impacted by the reminder that there is God, several of the participants were divided up into different group, where they would be tested on their agility to pursue goals and response to temptations. Most of the participants were seen to show signs of self regulation processes, when they had the knowledge of God (Laurin, Kay & Fitzsimons, 2012).
Hypothesis
In the study there were two hypotheses, in this case null and alternative. The first hypothesis of the study was to test if the reminders of God could hinder the self regulation processes by bringing down the participants concentration on the goal pursuit. At the same time the second one was to evaluate if the reminder of God could actually lead to an increase in resistance for the temptations.
The null hypotheses in the study were the opposite of these two alternative hypotheses. In that case the first null hypothesis was to test if the reminder of God could increase the participants’ agility towards achieving their goals. While the second null hypothesis was to test the reminder of God would lead to a decrease in the resistance to temptations.
Sampling Procedure
As part of the study the participants that came to the study, were all thirty seven from engineering.
