The food industry does not consider the scope of blames and responsibilities at higher percentages. Instead, the miraculous escape of the brunt blame is pegged on personal choices that play roles in consumptions of the fast foods. Thus despite the numerous studies and proofs concerning adverse impacts of the production of foods high in calories, highly processed foods and foods that are high in sugar and salts, the food industry produced them in bulk due to the high demands of the market. In a nutshell, the fast food industry at high percentage denies the claims of being responsible for unhealthy eating and craving for the fast foods.

The food industry should be highly responsible for the obesity epidemic. The majority of the Americans are surrounded by the tasty cravings and temptations that are low in cost. The variety of tantalizing fast food menus ranging from snack foods, high processed foods, and prepackaged foods are pleasing to the eye. The reason for such craving is an aspect of marketing intentionally done by the fast food industry (Zefutie Jr, 2003). On the same note, the aspect of the brain alteration mechanism to enhance addiction is systematically used by the fast food industry to trap more consumers to these unhealthy fast foods. The industry uses a lot of sugar, fats, and salts in the food items that are consumed. The frequent consumption of such leads to a repeat to gain the pleasure experienced resulting to high consumption of fast foods. Therefore, the food industry should be held responsible for the obesity epidemic.

The scope of legal regulations to address the food industry as well as the impromptu inspection is still not strict. Restrictions should be on the food enterprises that do not heed to the regulations on healthy eating among the American people. Furthermore, the law should be strict on the marketing behavior of food companies and regular inspection conducted by the FDA to ensure that the right information on food labels of ingredients, recipes, and food items are revealed with accuracy in order not to mislead the consumers. Advertisement terms such as natural, fat-free or sugar-free, low content, and healthy should be reexamined to ensure that the food industry follows the true meaning of the words not for manipulation purposes.
