The debate about the best type of milk between Almond milk and Soy milk has drawn several issues of concern regarding their health safety and nutritional benefits. The paper emphasizes on the benefits of Almond milk compared to Soymilk. According to Oaklander (2016), Almond milk outweighs Soymilk with several benefits of health and nutritional importance. One, Almond milk has a quantity of sugar up to 15g per liter compared to its rival Soymilk that has high sugar levels of 16g per liter. Another benefit of Almond milk is that it has low fats that are unsaturated and good for health regarding cholesterol levels in the blood. Almond milk is also a good source of various vitamins such as D, A, and E that outdo the quantity of the same vitamins in Soymilk. Lastly, Almond milk has other benefits compared to Soymilk such as low sodium levels, low calories, and it naturally lacks lactose that fuel diabetes in many people (Newcomer, 2016).
Nutritionists have suggested several foods as alternative sources of protein that are better than soy from meat replacements. The foods are mainly alternative seeds apart from soy such as quinoa, lentils, and kidney beans. Other good sources of protein than soy include chick peas, alternatively called garbanzo beans (Newcomer, 2016). On the other hand, Soy milk is known to have several negative qualities. One, Soymilk has allergic effects on many people, especially those with thyroid related complications.
