Effectiveness of the reform initiative
The reforms in the health care industry officially referred to as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act were signed in the year 2010. Their main aim is to make heath care more accessible and affordable to the people of America. In my view, the reform will help to reduce the costs of accessing health care to the people. Reports have shown that millions of American are unable to access the health services due to extraordinary costs that are required by the health insurance, the public insurance services can also be cut even one becomes extremely sick leaving them to finance their health care by other means.
The health care reforms are based on principles that ensure quality health care facilities which are accessible to every citizen. The health care reforms basically regulate the private insurance system for the interest of the citizens. According to the president, the reforms will remove obstacles which exclude people from receiving medical care if they had a pre-existing condition which is the case in public insurance system (Obamacare, 2013).
