Study purpose
The study aimed at investigating the struggles in different fields to confront the complex role played by each of the various factors in shaping health inequities. The investigation was done using an intersectionality perspective. Besides, the study focuses on the different challenges and gaps associated with the use of intersectionality.
Study methods
The article used information from articles that were written by other scholars regarding the issue of intersectionality. The author also used policy evidence. For instance, data were obtained from the HIV/AIDS department. Both primary and secondary sources were used to provide information about the topic. The article is methodological feasibility of the issue of intersectionality. As well as the issue of de-centering gender using the intersectional analysis has been outlined.
Data analysis
Data is analyzed through the comparison of the information from the different sources. The author uses the information obtained from the sources to discuss the issue of intersectionality. Policy evidence acts as examples of the impact that intersectionality has had in identifying social classes and other complexities of human life.
Results
Information from the various sources indicates the favoring of gender as the critical dimension of health inequalities. Such favoritism has made it difficult for scholars to understand the multiple complexities of health outcomes and experiences. People often have mis-specifications of privileged identities, which result from intersectionality.
