For example, the federal spending in health care research grew by 5.4% from 2013 to 2014 but dropped by 1.4% from 2015 to 2015 (Research America, 2016). I feel that the federal government is likely to increase spending into research and advocacy for health care research because of increased public pressure. Also, the increasing burden of disease such as in cases of cancer, the federal government is likely to increase funding research and development to address these challenges (Bailey et al., 2017). In regards to state and local governments, they continue to support research and development. I predict that as the role of federal government increases in health care research, so will the impact of state and local governments be felt. Access to care: This is still a problem for many Americans. The main barriers to accessing care is high cost of care making it difficult for certain groups to afford care (Access, 2019). For example, many people from low income households do not have health insurance and this means they cannot access high quality care.
