Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) is essential for providing current knowledge concerning the provision of care and patient outcomes. The use of EBP approaches holds great potential for producing the intended health. In line with this, it is important to bring all nurses on board to ensure that the EBP approaches are used effectively. The first strategy I would advocate for is the use of informatics. EBP requires the information gathered in various sectors including research work to be adequately communicated. Using informatics allows the advancement of knowledge by providing new insights from existing data (Hughes, 2008). Fundamentally, it helps to mitigate errors and supports decision making using information technology. Another approach for enhancing the use of EBPs is improving communication (International Council of Nurses, 2012). Interpersonal communication processes, the flow of information, and influence that emerges from the social networks in the health setting affects the adoption of EBPs. An effective flow of information can be triggered by the use of media platforms, opinion leaders, advocated for change, and experts, promoting the use of EBPs. Communication is important to increase cooperation making teamwork a reality. Resultantly, there is better health care provision as communication forms the backbone of effective use of the EBP (Hughes, 2008).
