My passion to be a nurse was a long term career objective that was definitely underscored in the years as an undergraduate student. Furthermore, I used to care for my younger sibling at home after during his recovery from the operation which made me develop an interest in nursing. Therefore, I developed sympathy and empathy towards patients. I have been helping high school students and teens through counseling on nutrition (Angelo & Cross, 1993). Furthermore, I have been visiting rehabilitation centers to counsel a student who is drug addicts as well as participating in public forums and in high schools where I do guidance and counseling. On the same note, I have work in different nursing homes which have helped me gain skills such as infection and prevention control, health and safety, communication, oral hygiene and the needs the use of a hoist. Furthermore, I have gained skills due to the various teams that I have involved with during the school and work durations (Dolly Goldenberg & Carroll Iwasiw, 2005).
One of my strengths is the eagerness to learn new skills and strategies as well as being a conscientious learner. Therefore, I am better prepared to handle most problems in the nursing field. Furthermore, ...
