Research Gaps
When conducting research, there is a basic principle where researchers look for the gaps that exist from the previous researches. New and upcoming research focuses on these gaps that can be filed with reference to the research topics, to build on the evidence available on the same (Hussey, Mulcahy, Schnyer & Schneider, 2012). With reference to research, gaps create a chance for the researchers to delve into. However, there is an aspect to be considered with reference to creating change.
When implementing change in health care the element of gaps in the evidence is a hindrance. Change tends to take on a process approach, where every other step is followed up with the next. Where there are gaps in the evidence available this also creates a gap in the implementation process (Niven, 2017).
Evidence based practices are part of nursing practices in most of the health care facilities today.
