Autonomy
One of the ethical principles that is crucial especially in the nursing field is that of autonomy for the patients. This is a crucial element relative to the fact that, every other patient needs the autonomy to make their own decisions. This is to mean that, a patient is able to make the decision about the direction in their life. Even with the element of health care, it is important that the patient is able to make the call on the king of care they receive (Canadian International Development Agency, 2018). Patient centered care is one of the ways that the medical field is evolving. Patients are allowed to make a choice over what treatment plans that they can work with. As such, autonomy plays role in health care (Saint Mary's College, 2018). More importantly, this is an ethical principle that guides my practice. Every patient should have the right to choose on what they go through as part of their health care.
