Internationally, electronic health record systems play a vital role in the provision of higher quality care for patients as well as creating improvements in health organizations. These systems provide health professionals with correct, current, and complete information that enhance effective and efficient care. It also allows health providers to diagnose patients accurately, reduce medical errors, provide safer care, reduce health care costs, improve patient and provider relationships, enhance reliable and safe prescribing, and increase providers' productivity and work-life balance (Birkhead et al., 2015).
