Aside from gender, race, and class discrimination, the age difference is also one of the most prominent problems in our society today. Many people are thinks that people who are near their due should have fewer rights so that the younger generations could benefit more. The argument about this furthers from the belief that since the latter are the productive ones, the people that could bring a better economy and contribution to allocate more resources to them. However, this should not be the case. In the example given, I would most like be frustrated and angry with a colleague after hearing his opinion that the confused and disoriented adult client should not even be bothered with and get treated with the mental services. According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, everyone should be treated equally before the law regardless of one’s gender, race, SES, or even age. The last one is most probably the one that is given the least attention since as compared to other issues discrimination against age does not really capture mass awareness and also any initiative to act towards it. Going back to the scenario, I would also say to my colleague about the part in the UN declaration of Human rights hoping that I could somehow raise awareness of it, even at least in the healthcare sector. Lastly, even without the Human rights declaration...
