Disabilities
Statistics reveal that approximately 20% of the total global demographics battle with at least one form of disability. In addition, most people in the population will experience one form of disability in their course of life (Disabled World, 2019). The statistics show that everyone in the world is vulnerable to become disabled, irrespective of their health stability. Disability limitations yield disorders in ailing individuals, affecting their healthy living. On the other hand, the occurrence of two or more of these illnesses in the same person generates comorbidity, which is the continuous interaction between two or more disorders that could worsen the condition of a disability (National Institute on Drug Abuse, 2018). Conditions like autism, epilepsy, anxiety disorder and intellectual disability may be accompanied by health issues that can occur once or consistently after a short while upon the realization of the first condition, worsening the health conditions of the people with disabilities.
First, autism entails problems related to communication and behavior. The situation involves a wide range of symptoms in the affected persons. However, the problem can either be a minor issue or a disability that needs long term care in medical care facilities (WebMD, 2020). Autism yields communication problems whereby the victims cannot understand what the people around them feel and think either through their actions or expressions. The most affected population by this condition is young children under the age of 3years with most of the symptoms appearing at birth, whereby they steadily lose their communication skills (WebMD, 2020). However, the children do not have issues in languages, and they have the capability of scoring excellent grades in tests. Secondly, epilepsy disorder is the occurrence of subsequent seizures on the affected individuals. Seizures are the sudden implication of electrical activity in the brain (Pietrangelo, 2017). “There are two main types of seizures. Generalized seizures affect the whole brain. Focal, or partial seizures, affect just one part of the brain (Pietrangelo, 2017).”However, the activity may be minor to the extent of lasting for only a few seconds that cannot be easily recognized. On the other hand, stronger seizure results in confusion and unconsciousness, although the affected people may not remember the incidence afterward (Pietrangelo, 2017). Although everyone is prone to epilepsy, the problem is more common in young children and older people and also prevalent in males than in females (Pietrangelo, 2017). Epilepsy does not have an ultimate cure, but survival in the condition can be enhanced by the use of the right medication procedures and other strategies like dietary monitoring. Persons suffering from epilepsy exhibit health issues like fever, head trauma, and alcohol withdrawal.
On the other hand, anxiety disorders entail mental illnesses that withdraw people from ordinary activities. For instance, people may be nervous before making a significant decision. The condition impacts people by causing recurrent incidences of fear and overwhelming throu...
