The current sphere of healthcare requires that we become adept with technological advances. The nursing care is continuously adopted new technologies that ease healthcare delivery as well as faster and efficient handling of information. Information and communication technologies are being adopted to capture, store, process, and facilitate the exchange of information regarding the promotion of health, prevention of disease, treatment interventions, and management of chronic illnesses, among others.
As health systems move toward data-driven systems technologies and meaningful use, it is essential not to lose sight of the patients and clients we care for (Gomes et al., 2016). Technology helps frontline nurses provide the highest-quality, safe, and patient-centered care. Thus, technologies should not prevent the patient from caregivers' interactions. I agree with the article written by Gomes et al.: I feel that the application of new technologies such as in electronic health records or any other aspects does not interfere with face-face interaction between nurses and patients but enhances and complements such interactions.
